Itinerary: 6-Day Desert Tour from Fes
Day 1: Fes meeting
On the first day of your Desert Tour from Fes to Casablanca, our driver will meet you at the airport of Fes and take you to your riad or hotel for relaxation after your long travel. Overnight and dinner at your accommodation.
Day 2: Fes city tour
Your driver will take you on a guided tour of Fes, Morocco, starting with the ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the narrow, labyrinthine streets lined with bustling souks, historic monuments, and vibrant artisan workshops. Visit the iconic Bou Inania Madrasa, an architectural marvel adorned with intricate tilework, and the tanneries to witness traditional leather craftsmanship. Discover the spiritual heart of Fes at the University of Al Quaraouiyine, considered the world’s oldest continuously operating educational institution. Stroll through the Jewish Quarter and marvel at the royal architecture of the Dar Batha Museum. Day 3: Chefchaouen Day Trip from Fes
On the 3rd day of your Desert Tour from Fes to Casablanca, you will have a special day trip to Chefchaouen, a captivating blue-hued town nestled in the Rif Mountains of Morocco. Begin your exploration in the picturesque medina, where every corner is adorned with shades of blue, creating a visually stunning atmosphere. Stroll through the narrow winding streets, discovering local shops offering handmade crafts, textiles, and traditional Moroccan goods. Visit the historic Kasbah, a fortress with beautiful gardens and a museum showcasing regional art and culture. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the charming cafes in the medina, savoring local specialties. Afterward, hike to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic view of Chefchaouen and the surrounding mountains. Immerse yourself in the town’s relaxed ambiance, capturing the beauty of its blue-washed buildings and the tranquility of the mountainous landscape before returning to your accommodation in Fes.
Day 4: Fes – Azrou – Middelt – Merzouga
On the fourth day, you will drive via the Middle Atlas Mountains, a genuinely magnificent region of the world, after rising early for breakfast in Fes. This portion of our tours will take up the majority of the day as it winds through stunning, lush forests, past craggy rock faces, and through Berber villages. After that, you’ll head downhill into the Sahara desert and stop for lunch in Midelt, a town well-known for its stunning stones and ancient fossils.
Proceeding along scenic mountain roads with views of the meandering Oued Ziz. You will travel through palm groves and kasbahs with our Desert Tours crew. After that, we moved in the direction of Er-Rachidia, a city colored by adobe, and arrived in Merzouga late in the afternoon. Following a short period of relaxation, our staff will assist you in mounting your camel for a breathtaking excursion across the Sahara Desert, one of the most breathtaking and hostile regions on earth. After traveling for roughly two hours, you will witness a desert sunset before setting up camp in Erg Chebbi’s dunes. sleeping beneath a sky full of thousands of stars while in a traditional nomadic tent. This night is sure to be unforgettable, with food and Berber music provided by your guide.
Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Dades Gorges
On the second day, you’ll get up early to witness the panoramic sunrise over the dunes before riding a camel to return to Merzouga. You will proceed towards Erfoud and the Todra Gorges beyond it after breakfast. You’ll see nomads going about their daily lives as you travel. Once there, you can ascend the 300-meter-tall gorges for a great vantage point over the picturesque river valleys. Our route takes us through these same valleys and into Morocco’s southeast. After that, our desert tours take you past Tamnalt Hill’s unique rock formations and into Dades Gorge, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 6: Dades Gorges – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
On the last day of our Desert tour from Fes, your group will travel through the High Atlas Mountains to the historic town of Ouarzazate. Go off-road in your 4WD for roughly 25 km. After that, you’ll come upon caverns inhabited by formerly settled tribes, and finally, one of the most exquisite and aromatic cities on earth.
Take the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs to arrive at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified and UNESCO World Heritage site. Then, you will continue through the Skoura Palm Oasis. After that, you’ll reach Morocco’s Valley of Roses, home to the roses used to make most of the perfume used worldwide. Next, to Ouarzazate, which is referred to as Africa’s Hollywood. where many popular movies were shot, such as Gladiator, Jesus of Nazareth, and Lawrence of Arabia. Next, you should tour the city and look for any hidden treasures. After that, traverse the High Atlas, and in the afternoon, be dropped off at your hotel or riad.
