Here are a few of the city’s noteworthy attractions: A large artificial pond sits in the middle of the serene Menara Gardens, which are said to have been used by the sultans for courtship. The gardens are a reflection of the Muslim paradise on earth and are particularly lovely for strolling. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Marrakech, the Saadian Tombs were first made public in 1917, the year of their discovery. The remains of the Saadian dynasty’s warriors and servants are interred in more than 100 mosaic-decorated tombs located in the same garden. The Bahia Palace is a palace and gardens designed to be the largest palace ever constructed, and the former Vizier’s home has a patio that is encircled by rooms and has a central basin as decoration. Among the city’s most emblematic monuments is the Koutoubia Mosque, which is distinguished by its 69-meter-tall minaret, making it the highest structure and a well-known landmark. Despite being located in the middle of the Medina, Jemaa El Fna Square is surprisingly large, with a tangle of winding streets and alleyways leading off.
